Bridal Bargains Book Giveaway!

Now I know it’s not a set of custom letterpress invitations or a honeymoon trip to Fiji, however, I figured it’s the thought that counts.

So, here’s how it will work.

To enter, just leave a comment on this post. Doesn’t have to be anything super-inspired but here are a few suggestions:

Your comment could be about:

  • why you want the book
  • what kind of stuff you’d like to see me write about
  • what budget obstacles you’re facing
  • or anything else, as long as it’s remotely related

The contest will end Friday at 6pm ET. I’ll randomly choose a comment and that person gets the book. Easy Peasy.

I’m at the beginning stages of wedding planning and am facing a daunting task. Both my fiance and I are graduating from law school and graduate school respectively next month (YAY!) and we are planning to buy a house and plan a wedding in Washington, DC in the next year. The average cost of a wedding in DC starts around $28000, which astounds me. I wouldn’t be able to sleep at night spending that kind of money on one day, albeit an important day. We originally discussed an $18000 budget, but now I am insisting on a $15000 with a goal of $12000. I am keeping to my goal so far and was able to find a Kay Unger gown off the rack at Saks for $250. I am in desperate need of some other tips! (Hence why I visit your blog! Thanks!) I want an elegant and intimate DC event, something our families and friends will remember, but I don’t want it to come at a cost that will take away from us buying a house and paying down our student loan debt.

I don’t need the book (already have it/read it), but I want to encourage others to comment and win it! It’s got great ideas!

I would like this book! We’re dealing with trying to stick to our budget, but working in all of our favorite items & learning what we need to prioritize on.

I would love to receive the book. While my boyfriend and I are not yet engaged, we have been together since high school and hope to be soon – and we can use all the budgeting and bargaining ideas that we can get.

Nice blog, btw.

I was already planning on purchasing this book but in order to stick within our 7k budget I wanted to keep my wedding book ordering to a minimum.(hello public library!) I am finishing up my undergrad in Texas while my finance is attending dental school in Georgia. Austin is not a cheap place to plan a wedding so I’m looking for all the great advice I can get!

My sister and her husband-to-be are planning a wedding on a budget. This would be great! Thanks for the chance!

Great giveaway! I would love this book as I am always looking for ways to save money while still having a lovely and memorable wedding!

We just got engaged last month and are planning a simple destination wedding. I am currently in graduate school and he is planning on going back to school in the fall compiled with the fact we are planning to buy a house soon. So this book would be super :)

MY POCKETBOOK AND I WOULD DEEPLY CHERISH THIS BOOK. The END. Also, I recommend this site to folks who may want to save money by making their own centerpieces. It has a great step by step guide with easy to follow illustrations. http://www.silk-flower-smart.com/silk-flower-centerpiece.html

We are planning our wedding for november this year. We bought our first home a few months ago and are now both facing lay offs at work. We are throwing the wedding ourselves and I would love some tips on how I can make this day possible. I greatly appreciate all of your advise on your blog aswell!!

My fiance and I are both graduate school students…we’ve been together for 5 years and we are elated about getting married next summer! The two of us will be paying for the wedding ourselves (hopefully through the use weekend/night/summer jobs). I started my own bridal blog to help me sort through all the fantastic ideas on the web – but I find it’s difficult to sift through ALL the fantastic info! I’m a reader and would love to get the inside scoop (ANY inside scoop!) on how to plan a lovely meaningful wedding without breaking the bank.

Hey, my biggest budget obstacles are the invitations! We’re having 175 guests at our wedding and the thought of spending $5 or more per invitation is just plain scary. I’m always looking for great DIY invitations that don’t look cheesy or too homemade. I’m sure this book and this blog will give me lots of good inspiration!
