I think I like the idea of the groomsmen buying suits instead of renting tuxes. Sure it may cost a little more, but they’re left with something they can keep and re-wear for years instead of returning it the next day. Not only that, but if they buy their suit, you can pretty much guarantee that other men haven’t had their ::ahem:: unmentionables hanging out in the pants.
So….
I’m trying to convince my fiance to have his guys wear tan suits with black ties. You might actually recognize these little black (bridesmaid) dresses from an earlier post. Whaddya think? Maybe I’ll add flowers in next time.

Hmm…just by knowing the groomsmen in your wedding (and the sarcasticness within), I’m just gonna assume that them buying tan suits may not go as smoooooothly as possible.

Long time lurker (sorry, this might be creepy), but I own the dress on the bottom left, and LOVE it. It’s pretty universally flattering. I’ve lent it out to other girlfriends, and it works on everyone. It’s also conducive to shawls/wraps/shrugs for those who want to cover their shoulders.

I like the idea. The top two suits are nice.

I love the idea of tan suits, but my fiancee nipped that idea in the bud. Also, just for something to think about- most men already have a black suit and a dark navy suit, so maybe you could just ask them to wear their own pre-owned suits? Depending on their financial situation, asking someone to spend $800 in addition to travel might be too much- sort of like asking a girl to buy her own Vera Wang bridesmaid dress. Just my 2 cents. Love your blog and thanks for sharing all your ideas with us.

Hello, I need some help and constructive advice!!! I recently bought my bridesmaid dresses for my March wedding. They are ivory and navy blue. Would it look bad to have the guys in black tux’s or should I put them in tan suits…if I do put them in tan..does it need to be linen and what other material is there? HELP ME IF YOU CAN!
