Did you look at the Masonic Temple? We had an appointment there and the event coordinator was pretty nice. The Details: Their Crystal Ballroom will easily hold 200 people for a sit down reception. The room rental is $1500. They have menus posted on the website but are more than happy to create a custom menu with you and the prices are pretty reasonable, $33.95 for a buffet. They'll even create a custom bar package (i.e. beer, wine & signature drink) I’ve been lurking your blog, as I’m in a similar boat, 130ish people for 10k in Detroit.
